Inspiration

The Meaning & Purpose of the Giveaway Ritual

We suffer from an inability to fully give of ourselves when:
1)  We believe we have nothing worth giving away.
2)  We believe we have no one worth giving away to.

Bridge from your inability to think about and your inability to take action from a place of generosity.

  • Decide that what you have perceived to be un-doable, could now become doable, through your connection and the ensemble
present to you on the web journey.
  • Be bold in mind.  Remember that daring to risk is the key, and also keep in mind that generosity is genius.

Reflection

What does one person truly have to give, that is worth giving to another?

“He gives of himself, of the most precious he has, he gives of his life. This does not necessarily mean that he sacrifices his life for the other – but that he gives him of that which is alive in him; he gives him of his joy, of his interest, of his understanding, of his knowledge, of his humor, of his sadness – of all expressions and manifestations of that which is alive in him.

In thus giving of his life, he enriches the other person, he enhances the other’s sense of aliveness by enhancing his own sense of aliveness. He does not give in order to receive; giving is in itself exquisite joy. But in giving he cannot help bringing something to life in the other person, and this which is brought to life is reflected back to him; in truly giving, he cannot help receiving that which is given back to him. Giving implies to make the other person a giver also and they both share in the joy of what they have brought to life. In the act of giving something is born, and both persons involved are grateful for the life that is born for both of them.”

– Erich Fromm

Action

Practice The Giveaway

Give this gift away to someone in particular who matters to you. Tell them the story behind your giveaway. Make a proper setting and context for this act of giving.

Give some depth of thought to what object needs to be moved forward and out of your life, and then consider who could most benefit from your gifting.

  • Feel into how this holds meaning for you, and find a way to make a Giveaway an intentional action.
  • Then feel into the opening this type of reaching creates within you.

Consider how the spirit of generosity may allow for some new energy to come forth into this open space being made inside you.

Grace is Key
